Salter’s Lake
Onoway Fish & Game has been taking care of Salter’s Lake since 1981. Generous donations and countless volunteer hours from our club members have turned it into a beautifully kept fishing lake that’s loved by both locals and visitors.
Accessible to the public year-round, the lake is regularly stocked with rainbow trout every spring and fall, a task carried out by Alberta Sustainable Resource Development. To help the fish population, the lake is also aerated. Salter’s Lake has a accessible boat launch and pier, with the stipulation that only boats equipped with electric motors are permitted. Remember, the rules outlined in Alberta Fishing Regulations are in effect.
Location:
Salter’s Lake is situated south of Onoway on RR 22. Turn left (east) onto Two 544, a short dead-end road that leads to parking, an outhouse, picnic area, and a dock.
