Onoway Kids Can Catch at Mink Lake

You are cordially invited to the first annual Kids can Catch day presented by Onaway Fish and Game

Association (OFGA) and Spruce Grove Fish and Game Association (SGFGA): An event designed to teach

children aged 5-17 to safely, ethically and with conservation in mind to ice fish.

Event: OFGA Kids Can Catch

Location: Mink Lake, South of Carvel at Highway 770 and TWP 524

When: Sunday, February 17, 2019, 11 am to 2 pm

Parking: Park in the lot to the north of Mink Lake immediately off Highway 770. Parking marshals will

direct you. Overflow parking in the camp ground to the south of the lake.

Bring your own gear or pick up a loaner ice fishing rod (limited quantity) and bait, courtesy of Cabela’s,

Cabela’s Canada Outdoor Fund and Alberta Conservation Association. Find a pre-drilled ice fishing hole

and drop a line. Ask roving fishing mentors for help with your rod and reel, ice fishing tips, and how

safely handle and release fish.

OFGA Kids Can Catch is on Alberta’s Family Day Long Weekend, so no fishing licences are required. Free

hotdogs and hot chocolate and ice fishing rods on loan, while supplies last.

This event is part of the Kids Can Catch Program in which ACA teams up with local organizations and

businesses to create opportunities for families to fish and learn about responsible angling. Find out
